For details on what's on in and around town, take a copy of
"Clubs et Concerts" at the Office de Tourisme or pick
up "Bordeaux Plus" at one of the newsstands.
Start your evening at Grand Théâtre,
place de la Comédie that offers a very busy and diverse
performance schedule.
There's gambling, drinking, dining, and people-watching
at Casino de Bordeaux, in the Hôtel Sofitel Bordeaux Lac,
bd. Jean Gabriel Domergue. For street life that's
out-in-the-open and animated, head for the inner core of
Bordeaux by night, to streets that include place de la
Victoire, place St-Pierre, place du Parlement, place Camille
Jullian. Night owls in Bordeaux
drive for quai du Paludate, where restaurants, bars, and
discos remain open till the wee hours.
Caesar's, 5 quai de Paludate is in a
mini-château on the city's most animated nightlife street,
with dinner, cabaret shows, and a small rather upscale disco
and a series of cocktail lounges on-site.
For some of the best pubs, hit the
Conemara Irish Pub at 18 cours d'Albret where the Guinness
flows freely and noisy crowd gathers to hear Irish music; or
Dick Turpin's Bar at 72 rue du Loup, which specializes in
just about every brand of whiskey. |
